The Syrian anti-narcotics department thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of narcotics hidden in shoes and horse saddles, ready to be smuggled into Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement issued by the Syrian Interior Ministry on Friday, this came as a result of internal monitoring and inspection operations carried out in shipping and export companies, which resulted in the seizure of about 180 Captagon pills.

As a result, the field units began to follow up on the people involved in the case, which led to the confiscation of the seized items, the arrest of a person and his referral to the competent authorities to complete the investigations.
