Because of his "rocket tests," Texans are suing Elon Musk.

Dozens of homeowners in the south have raised Texas American lawsuit against the company “SpaceXOwned by the businessman Elon MuskThey accused the company of gross negligence and trespassing on their property.

 

Residents say that sonic shock waves from 11 missile tests conducted between April 2023 and October 2025 caused damage to their homes, including cracks in walls, shattered windows, and damaged ceilings.

Affected residents noted that the 2023 launch of the Starship rocket destroyed the launch pad and scattered debris for distances of up to two-thirds of a mile from the launch site.

The lawsuit was filed by about 80 residents, demanding unspecified financial compensation for damages to their property, without disclosing precise details about the extent of individual losses.

The US Federal Aviation Administration had given SpaceX the green light to increase launches from South Texas to 25 per year in 2025, a significant increase compared to previous years, amid ongoing controversy with local residents about the company's activities in the area.
