Safadi: The Jordanian-Cypriot-Greek summit is an opportunity for leaders to discuss the regional situation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said that the region faces major challenges and the trilateral summit between Jordan, Cyprus and Greece is an opportunity for leaders to discuss the regional situation.
Safadi added during a press conference with his Greek and Cypriot counterparts following the fifth Jordanian-Cypriot-Greek trilateral summit that the leaders agree on the importance of opening the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic.
Safadi continued, “The leaders emphasized the importance of sovereignty for the Lebanese government.”
Safadi said that “the King appreciates the positions of the Cypriot and Greek presidents regarding stability in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.”
He explained that the Palestinian issue was at the forefront of the leaders’ discussions, stressing the importance of working on the basis of a two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Safadi added that the leaders “emphasized the need to implement President Trump’s plans and Security Council resolutions regarding the entry of aid into Gaza.”
Safadi said that His Majesty the King appreciated the positions of the Cypriot and Greek presidents regarding a just solution in the West Bank.
Regarding Syria, Safadi stressed that “the stability of Syria is very important to support regional stability and we all want Syria to succeed in this path.”
Safadi also noted that the leaders stressed their rejection of Iranian strikes on Jordan and the Gulf states.
